In celebration of MassArt’s 150th Anniversary, renowned artist, alumnus, former faculty member and honorary degree recipient Steve Locke has created a site-specific installation to honor the history and legacy of the College. The work functions to literally highlight MassArt’s history as a teaching institution, established in 1873 as a “Normal School,” the 19th century term for colleges educating and preparing teachers.
