The MassArt Department of Architecture invites you to join the Spring 2023 Tuesday Talks speaker series featuring with Mitch Ryerson, at 6pm on Tuesday, March 21 in person at the  MassArt Design and Media Center's Huntington Studio.

Mitch Ryerson has been working with wood for over forty years. He has done carpentry, boatbuilding, furniture making and for the last fifteen years, building outdoor wooden play structures in parks. While doing this work he has gained a new appreciation of the advantages and challenges of utilizing the natural shapes of the tree. These branches, forks, roots, etc., can be very strong and also serve as a reminder of the living thing that gave us this wood. For children of all ages, this tactile experience of the natural world can provide an important counterpoint to the urban environment. He currently maintains a studio in Allston, MA and teaches furniture design at Mass College of Art.

This event is free and open to the public.

For questions about attending the in-person event, contact MassArt Graduate Programs at gradprogram@massart.edu.
