Tuesday Talks - Gone to the Empire - (Inter)disciplinary works from the State of New York with Michael Joyce

Please join the Architecture Department for this week's Tuesday Talk lecture at 6 pm with Michael Joyce, presenting Gone to the Empire - (Inter)disciplinary works from the State of New York. Light refreshments will be served before the talk.

Michael Joyce is an Associate and Senior Architect with the consulting group Stantec Architecture and is an adjunct visiting lecturer at the Massachusetts College of Art. His background and practice intersects the fields of architecture, urban design and art from which he develops a synthesis of creative exploration in his work. He received his BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and holds a Master in Architecture from MIT. His work involves a narrative dialogue of scale between the interaction of the site, the program and the design response creating intended multiple readings. Michael continues to advocate for the process of drawing as a way to bring concepts to form whether in his practice or as an educator. Currently he is exploring how the built environment and user experience is related to sense of place, wellness and resiliency in design.
