Starting your Industrial Design Career

What skills are companies really looking for in junior industrial designers? How much should you charge for freelance work? This is your opportunity to get answers to the real questions that challenge students and young professionals.

For many people, the first few years as a professional can be a difficult and confusing time. Come learn from our panel of experts how to successfully navigate the design world. Topics will include: how do you figure out your freelance rate, what are hiring managers looking for in new hires, and what skills should industrial designers spend the time developing?

The event will be held at the Design and Media Center at MassArt on April 3, from 7-9 pm. We will have a panel of mid-to-senior level designers from major companies & consultancies in the Boston area to share their experiences and answer your questions. Food and refreshments will be provided.

This event is open to Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) members and non-members. All all are welcome! This event is co-sponsored by MassArt Industrial Design, Career Development and Alumni Relations.
