Janeth Almendares (BFA '25) is an artist based and born in Boston, Massachusetts. She recently graduated with a BFA in photography at Massachusetts College of Art of Design in 2025. She often travels and photographs Honduras where her family is from. As the sole artist in her home she explores her family dynamics by using photography. Capturing intimate moments and events was allowing her to become an active participant in moments where she would usually sit and observe. She received the Gertrude Kasebier Bosworth Prize in 2024 and the Gertrude Kasebier Travel Prize in 2025.
Dan Boardman (MFA '12) (b. 1984) is an artist and arts administrator living and working in Elbridge, NY. Boardman received a BFA in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2008 and an MFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 2012. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally and is held in public and private collections. Boardman is Light Work’s Executive Director, a role he has held since 2022. Light Work is a non-profit organization that, for five decades, has supported emerging and underrepresented lens-based artists.
Kannetha Brown (BFA '23) is a second-generation Cambodian-American artist whose work in photography and narrative history explores cultural preservation and historical reckoning. Rooted in her family’s survival of the Cambodian Genocide, Brown draws on spiritual and material traditions to reinterpret personal and communal memory. Her work has been exhibited nationally, including Bryant University, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Iowa, and featured in The New York Times and Rolling Stone. She earned her BFA in Photography from MassArt.
Ross Kiah (BFA '19) is a Boston-based photographic artist whose work focuses on humans' relationship with the natural and constructed world. He focuses on light, texture and surface to observe how different amounts of time change people, places, and objects. Kiah is the Studio Manager and Master Printer at Palm Press in Medford, MA. He earned his BFA from MassArt in 2019.
All Photography lectures are free and open to the public.
