https://www.massartphotography.org/lecture-series #massart_photographyThe MassArt Graduate Programs and Photography department are pleased to welcome Pia-Paulina Guilmoth as a visiting artist of the Spring 2025 Photography Lecture Series. Pia-Paulina will be in conversation with MassArt Photo faculty. Please join us in the DMC Lecture Hall at 2:00pm on Tuesday, May 6th.
Pia-Paulina Guilmoth lives and makes art in rural central Maine. Pia is a working class transgender woman who lives with her girlfriend and two cats in a small tree-house-like space inside of a 200 year old shoe factory on the bank of the Sandy River. In her free time she likes to lay in the dirt, shoot guns, hold her friends, and trespass into abandoned houses and barns. Pia’s work is foremost about harnessing beauty as a form of resistance to a world full of terrors. While making art she is thinking about class, gender, euphoria, dysphoria and whatever else is happening in her life at that given moment. Pia released her third book this November with Stanley/Barker titled Flowers Drink the River. She currently has a solo exhibition at Webber Gallery in London.
All Photography lectures are free and open to the public.
