Flowers and more largely the natural world around us teach us many important lessons-
about cycles of creation, relationships, decay, and togetherness. Much of my work incorporates

this natural imagery, ranging from decorative to narrative. My Mother’s Garden is a lost and
found of graphite on tracing paper, clay and crochet, and watered down gouache. I approach
each piece like a diary entry. The world is one big garden with each of playing an important part
in known and unknown cycles. Each piece explores these ideas of comfort, fear, growth, and
getting lost, coming together as a series of mixed media illustrations in both two and three
dimensional forms, dating from 2019 to 2020. I hope you find moments of quiet, joy, and
reflection as you walk through my garden.
