About this Event
Career Development is hosting MassArt’s first-ever Student Employment Showcase, where students can meet potential MassArt Hiring Managers from most campus departments and learn about current and upcoming employment opportunities for the Academic Year, both on and off-campus. All undergraduate students, First Year through Seniors, are welcome to attend.
This summer event is designed to help undergraduate students get ready for their return to campus, have access to information about job opportunities, and be more prepared to apply for open positions when they are posted. During the event, we encourage you to attend department sessions you are curious about, ask questions of the Hiring Managers, and interact with them. The Student Employment Showcase will be hosted on Handshake, Career Development’s Job/Internship listing platform. Current, matriculated students already have an account on Handshake which you can access using your MassArt email username and password to access your account.
We have structured the Showcase under 7 themes to help students navigate the college for areas that may be of interest to them:
How Sessions Are Organized:
MassArt offices have been organized into 7 themes based on the nature of what they do and to make it easier for students to select areas that will be of the most interest to them:
MassArt Academic Departments: MassArt offers 18 different majors, and many of the academic departments utilize student employees to keep things running smoothly in the classroom and studios. The offices included under this theme are Academic Affairs, Academic Majors & Studios, Graduate Programs, and Professional and Continuing Education.
MassArt: Community Engagement & Social Justice: These departments help others access the power of the arts within and beyond MassArt to radically expand access to transformative creative experiences and promote social justice and equity for all. The offices included under this theme are Artward Bound, CACP, and Justice, Equity, and Transformation (JET).
MassArt: is a University: These departments help the public see the value of MassArt. They showcase your work as a student and encourage art lovers to support the education of our artists, designers, and educators. If you are a "people person" that likes to work with the public, check out these departments. The offices included under this theme are Admissions, Institutional Advancement (IA) Office, Institutional Research, Effectiveness and Planning, Marketing and Communications, and Office of the President.
MassArt: Is An Arts Organization: MassArt is not only a University, we are also a cultural institution. The MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) opened in February 2020 and received wide media attention. Our Library is managed by a staff that specializes in the preservation and collection of books, resources, and artifacts. It's different from your hometown library! The offices included under this theme are the Library, and MassArt Art Museum (MAAM).
MassArt Services: It takes a lot to keep MassArt up and running. Find out what they do and how student employees have helped them. The offices included under this theme are Accounting Services, Administration & Finance, Administrative Services, Bursars Office, Central Services, Covid Operations, Facilities, Project Management, Public Safety, Registrar, Student Financial Assistance, and Technology.
Student Life: If you like the idea of interacting with your peers in different and fun ways, check out this area and learn about different student employee roles that help you and your fellow students make the most of your time at MassArt. The offices included under this theme are College and Visiting Events, Student Development, and Student Leadership.
Student Support: Being at MassArt is so much more than attending classes. You and your peers have access to resources on campus to help with housing, academic support, mind and body wellness, and global experiences. The offices included under this theme are Academic Resources Center (ARC), Career Development, Counseling and Wellness Center, Dining Services, Housing & Residence Life, and the International Education Center.
