About this Event
100 Atlantic Avenue, Boston, MA
All ages welcome! No experience necessary! (Our team will assist with the design and carving process)
In celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the college, MassArt is bringing the art of aluminum casting out of the foundry, and into your hands! This is a great way to explore the metal casting process, and try something new. Under the guidance of faculty, alumni, and current students, you have the opportunity to carve your own design into a “scratch block” (a pre-formed mold made of resin-bonded sand), and watch as we cast your art in metal. We will be melting aluminum on site, and pouring into the scratch blocks created by YOU. Within minutes the metal will solidify and be cooled and finished by our team. You will walk away with your own custom cast aluminum art!
First come, first served. Limited supply.
This event is co-hosted by Eutectic Arts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational and mental health based organization, using metal casting as an innovative form of learning.
