DESCRIPTION:The Urban Tree Oracle: Sycamore Time at MassArt\n\nJoin Artist 
 Jane D. Marsching for an afternoon of movement\, writing\, and drawing with
 \nSycamore ink in conversation with one of our urban trees: Sycamore\nSycam
 ores and London Plane trees live throughout the Boston Fens area. They have
  been living\non this planet for over a hundred million years and can live 
 for 500-600 years\, becoming\nancient guardian trees in our ecologies. They
  have stood as witness on earth long before\nhumans appeared\, patiently be
 aring with all that happens during their lives. They are an ally to\nus in 
 this time when we are called to the courageous act of witnessing: a revelat
 ory staying\nwith the trouble and speaking truth.\nWe will gather with Syca
 more in Evans Way Park and participate in a collective somatic exercise\nwi
 th the sun\, time\, and Sycamore. Then we will process and reflect through 
 drawing and\nwriting with ink made from Sycamore. By the end of the session
 \, participants will generate\ntheir own oracle card (an image and text-bas
 ed tool for intuition and divination)\, guided by the\necology and life of 
 Sycamore.\nBoston-based artist Jane D. Marsching creates interdisciplinary\
 , research-based\, experimental\nprojects that foster an experience of wond
 er and invite us to communicate with the beings\nwe live with. Her current 
 project\, The Urban Tree Oracle\, is a collective tool for climate\nresilie
 nce through deeping into relationship with our more-than-human kin\, urban 
 trees. She\nexhibits internationally and is the recipient of awards\, fello
 wships\, and residencies nationally.\nAs a Professor at MassArt\, she is Di
 rector of the Sustainability Minor and founder of the\nMassArt Resilient Pi
