About this Event
460C Harrison Avenue Boston, MA 02118
https://sowa.massart.edu/In this body of mine, MassArt x SoWa’s sixth alumni curatorial project, is an immersive exhibition that confronts the viewer with a tapestry of visual narratives. These are crafted by a collective of twenty contemporary artists who embark on profound explorations of the intricate entanglements between queer identity and the corporeal realm. The choice of Massachusetts as the exhibition venue imbues the show with an air of profound significance. The local community has long stood as an unwavering ally to LGBTQIA+ people.
In this body of mine, on view June 10 - July 16, 2023, is curated by Joan Cox (MFA’13 Fine Arts Low Residency) in collaboration with Baltimore-based curator and professor Liz Faust. The show serves as a resounding testament to the eternal pursuit of acceptance and celebration, and invites us to bear witness to the kaleidoscope of human existence, unearthing the hidden, amplifying the silenced, and exalting the resilient spirit of queerness.
