Dr. Judy Dunaway will give a talk about the Fluxus movement and early Sound Art (1970s-1990s) as it relates to her own creative practice. Judy published the paper “The Forgotten 1979 MoMA Sound Art Exhibition” in Resonance: The Journal of Sound and Culture (University of California Press) in 2020. Judy is internationally known for her numerous works for latex balloons as sound producers. The talk will be followed by a short performance on her amplified balloon instrument.
