MassArt is pleased to welcome Mary Lum to the Fall 2023 Fine Arts Lecture Series. Lum joins the 2D and 3D Fine Arts departments, the Graduate Programs, and the MassArt community on Wednesday, November 1 at 12pm in the Design and Media Center Lecture Hall.

 

Mary Lum is a visual artist whose intricate collages, paintings, photographs, and murals explore the margins of city life, alternative geographies, and the use of text as image.  Her work has been exhibited in numerous institutions, including Mass MoCA, North Adams, MA; The Drawing Center, NY, the deCordova Sculpture Park and Museum; and Oxford University. Recent Publications that her work has been part of include, Modern Artifacts (Esopus and MoMA, NY); Best! Letters from Asian Americans In The Arts, (Paper Monument). Lum has received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation (2010), The Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study (2004-2005, 2022), and MacDowell (2018), among others.
