 , October 6.\n\n \n\nAudrey Sands is the Richard L. Menschel Associate Cur
 ator of Photography at the Harvard Art Museums. She specializes in twentie
 th-century photography in the United States\, with a focus on political co
 nditions\, pedagogy\, avant-garde practices\, and image circulation. Sands
  has published extensively on the artist Lisette Model. Her exhibitions in
 clude The Way We Never Were: The American Professional Photographers Colle
 ction (2026-27)\, Farewell Photography: The Hitachi Collection of Postwar 
 Japanese Photographs\, 1961–1989 (2022) and Freedom Must Be Lived: Mario
 n Palfi’s America\, 1940–1978 (2021). She has previously held curatori
 al positions at the National Gallery of Art and the Center for Creative Ph
 otography\, and she holds a Ph.D. in Art History from Yale University.\n\n
