The MassArt Graduate Programs and the 2D and 3D fine art departments are pleased to welcome Susan Lichtman as a Visiting Artist of the Fall 2026 Fine Arts Lecture Series. Please join us in the Design and Media Center Lecture Hall at 12:00pm on Wednesday, October 7. 

Susan Lichtman is a painter of domestic spaces working in Southeastern MA. She has a BA degree from Brown University and an MFA from Yale School of Art. Lichtman has had exhibitions in the US and Europe, including solo shows at Steven Harvey Fine Arts Projects, (NY, NY); University of Texas Rio Grande Vallery, (Brownsville, TX); Rose Art Museum, (Waltham, MA); Fahrenheit Gallery, (Madrid, Spain); Gross McCleaf Gallery, (Philadelphia, PA) and the Wilson Museum of Hollins University, (Roanoke, VA). She will have an exhibition at the Zillman Museum, (Bangor, ME,) in early 2027. A Professor Emerita at Brandeis University, Lichtman has been a visiting critic at numerous programs, including as Artist-in-Residence at Hollins University and at UNC Asheville, and as a recent core faculty member at the Chautauqua Visual Art program. She has received awards from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation and the American Academy of Arts and Letters.
