#Entrepreneurship Lunch Series
View map

The Entrepreneurship Lunch Series brings the founders of creative businesses to campus for roundtable lunchtime discussions. These talks are open to the whole MassArt community. Join us for free pizza and exciting discussions with the entrepreneurs behind some of the coolest businesses in Massachusetts.

For this lunch session we'll be joined by Marquis Victor, founder and executive director of Elevated Thought.

Elevated Thought (ET) is an art and social justice organization based in Lawrence, MA. We develop spaces for BIPOC youth and communities to engage and understand art’s liberating power. Through creative youth development, public art projects, youth organizing, and paid opportunities for artists of color, ET actively addresses forms of systemic injustice.
ET believes that all young people should and could have access to wide-ranging, creative and alternative learning opportunities. We are designed to affirm cultural and community identity as well as to build the capacity for creative practices that enable youth to produce the stories and vision that lead to individual and community change.

More About Marquis:

Marquis Victor (he/him) is founder and executive director of Elevated Thought. He leads ET's vision, goals, and mission. He believes "creativity is essential for human flourishing" and grounds his personal and professional pursuits in this perceived truth.

In addition to being a poet and artist, Marquis has a master's degree in Education from Lesley University and compiled over seven years of public school experience before focusing on Elevated Thought full-time. Prioritizing a process of conversation, creativity, and collaboration, Marquis built and facilitated the art and social justice curriculum that serves as the foundation for all of ET's creative youth development and youth organizing work.

A father, husband, and abstract thinker, he earned his Doctor of Education at Northeastern University with a focus on Organizational Leadership.
