Participants will leave with a framework for assessing their venture, strategizing for efficiency, growth and economic sustainability and maintaining an optimum art practice.

About the Instructor

Queen Allotey-Pappoe is an award-winning Ghanaian born, Fashion Entrepreneur. Founder, Creative Director of Queen Adeline, a sustainable fashion brand that creates wearable art for women on the go.

She currently lives with her family of five in Littleton, MA.

With a unique background in the Arts and Business, Queen consults and speaks at the intersection of Sustainability, Design, Entrepreneurship and Empowerment. She has taught and spoken on Sustainability and Creative Entrepreneurship at institutions including Massachusetts College of Arts, Rhode Island School of Design, Boston University and Suffolk University.

In 2021, she was a featured exhibitor at the Smithsonian exhibit Craft Optimism, celebrating creative ideas for responding to climate change. This curated exhibit was sponsored by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee and the non-profit Honoring the Future.

Queen serves on the Board of Trustees of the Society of Arts and Crafts, Boston and also at a private school in Littleton, MA The proud recipient of the Eileen Fisher Sustainable Design Scholarship (2018) at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MASSART), she also has her line Queen Adeline at the Peabody Essex Museum store in Salem, Massachusetts.

Creative Economy Series 

This workshop is being offered as part of the Creative Economy Workshop Series at MassArt. This series of free, non-credit lectures and webinars is focused on professional development for practicing and aspiring creative entrepreneurs, artists, designers, and freelancers.
