About this Event
As the election draws nearer, tensions are at an all time high. We are all dealing with the stresses of a pandemic, an upcoming election, large amounts of school work, and even the possibility of seasonal depression as the seasons start to change.
SGA, in collaboration with JET and the Counseling and Wellness Center, are planning programming for the student body that allows for continued conversations, self check-ins, and healing. This program will consist of three mini workshops centered around how to cope with the possible anxieties we may encounter the day of the election and in the days following. All are welcome to join for the entirety of the program or just to tune in for the sections that resonate with you most.

2:00-2:20PM Bilateral Drawing Exercise
Connecting our thoughts and feelings through cross-hemisphere stimulation of the brain.
2:20-2:40PM Writing Exercise
Writing is a fantastic way to allow all of the information we have on our minds to manifest themselves on the page. Especially with the art burnout that accompanies the midterm season, writing allows for self expression in a medium we most often ignore.
2:40-3:00PM Progressive Muscle Relaxation
Progressive muscle relaxation is an exercise that works to reduce stress and anxiety in your body by slowly tensing and relaxing specific muscle groups. This technique can be helpful for those who have trouble concentrating, or experience racing thoughts, as well as headaches and muscle pain related to stress and anxiety.
Presented by the Student Government Association (SGA) in partnership with the Counseling & Wellness Center (CWC) and Office of Justice, Equity & Transformation (JET)
