Closing MassArt's 2022 MFA Summer Thesis Exhibition: Where I'm Coming From at MassArt x SoWa is a special screening event: the premiere of Charity Be's Breath Study (#You Between Me).  

Join the artist and the MassArt Graduate Programs in the MassArt x SoWa media room on Sunday, August 14 at 4:30pm.

Reminding us of what it is to be human is the video and sound installation, Breath Study (#You Between Me) (2022, Two-channel 4K video, color, sound, 30 minutes), in which the viewer becomes immersed in the natural rhythmic act and phenomenology of breath through a compression of time and inversion of space.

What bodies do in a space for a stretch of time is the axis of Charity Be’s embodied sculpture practice. Working across media, and often site-specifically, Be’s art is an ongoing experiment in how to manifest the conceptual and experience the invisible through our bodies. Be is an American West-Coast artist based in Berlin, Germany.
