About this EventAdd to calendar
The Art Education Department is proud to host a new Speaker Series, to be hosted on Thursday evenings, 5-6pm during the Spring 2021 semester via Zoom Webinar. These talks are open to all MassArt students, faculty, staff and alumni.
Danielle Abrams’ (she, her, hers) performances arise from the social tides that contour her mixed race and queer identities. Her intermedia performances initiate speculative encounters between Black revolutionaries, artists, ballerinas, and her Jewish and Black grandparents. Abrams’ performances reconceive of American hybridity. She has performed at the ICA Boston; Detroit Institute of the Arts, MI; NY; The Jewish Museum, NY. She has received awards from The Boston Foundation, Boston Center for the Arts, New York Foundation of the Arts, Franklin Furnace, and the Distinguished Artist Award from the St. Botolph Club Foundation. Abrams is a Professor of Practice in Performance at SMFA at Tufts University.
