The Art Education Speaker Series features artists and educators that embody the mission of our department to interweave critical pedagogy, flourishing creative practice and social justice. The Art Education Speaker Series is open to all.

Yangon-based artist and educator Aung Myat Htay will deliver an artist talk titled Unfinished Life, Unfinished Art. In this presentation, Htay traces his evolving practice through projects that weave together folklore, fragmented histories, and the overlooked geographies of Myanmar. His recent work, Sound of Summer (2024–2025), extends this exploration into the unfinished rhythms of life and art, asking how stories, places, and memories continue to shift, multiply, and resist closure.
