2D/3D Visiting Artist Lecture Series: Alexis Callender

The Departments of 2D Fine Arts and Graduate Programs are proud to welcome the next speaker for the Fall 2019 Visiting Artist Lecture Series: Alexis Callender!


Alex Callender’s current studio practice incorporates painting, drawing, and installation works to consider archival narrative, economic histories, and colonial mythology. She has participated in national and international exhibitions and artist residencies, most recently at The Drawing Center in New York, The American Art in Embassies Program, Urban Glass, The BAU Institute and Drawinternational in France, Alice Yard in Trinidad, and The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. She received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design, and is an Assistant Professor of Art at Smith College in Northampton, MA.
