 elcome Gabriela Gamboa as the final speaker of the MFA Summer 2026 Lecture
  Series in the Design and Media Center Lecture Hall on Thursday\, July 30 
 at 1:00pm.\n\n \n\nGabriela Gamboa is a multidisciplinary artist born in P
 ittsburgh and raised in Venezuela. Working across video\, photography\, pr
 intmaking\, and performance\, her practice examines conditions of displace
 ment\, exile\, and transformation\, with particular attention to the fragm
 ented geographies of belonging produced through migration. Her work engage
 s questions of temporality and perception\, constructing immersive\, resea
 rch-driven narratives that interrogate the instability between memory\, pr
 esence\, and landscape.\n\nGamboa received her BFA in Art and Design from 
 the University of Chicago and an MFA in Visual Art from the Massachusetts 
 College of Art and Design. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and
  internationally at institutions including the Museo de Arte Contemporáne
 o de Caracas\, Venezuela\; Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Lima\, Peru\; M
 useo de Arte Contemporáneo de Santiago\, Chile\; and Museo de Arte Contem
 poráneo del Zulia\, Venezuela.\n\nShe is the recipient of the Ellies Crea
 tor Award from Oolite Arts (2021\, 2025) and the Harris Barron Alumni Fell
 owship (2024) from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design\, which sup
 ported her participation as a summer fellow at the Haystack Mountain Schoo
 l of Crafts.\n\nGamboa is currently based in Miami\, Florida\, where she i
 s a resident artist at the Bakehouse Art Complex.\n\n \n\n \n\n \n\nQuesti
