About this Event
621 Huntington Avenue, Boston, MA 02115
MassArt is among the few universities that organize annual undergraduate symposia of the history of art and design. The Symposium fosters intellectual inquiry and comprehensive dialogue across disciplines of art practice and art theory, while encouraging innovative art historical research among undergraduate scholars at the College. We recognize and support students in all majors who strive toward artistic and scholarly excellence.
This year, four brilliant student scholars will present their research papers:
● Yuna Bennett
Buried Pleasures: The Legacy of Eroticism in Classical Japanese Visual Culture
● Boyang Frank Fan
The Healing Canvas: Lam Qua’s Medical Portraits and Cross-Cultural Exchange
● Richie Dillard
Autonomy and the Work of Indigenous Contemporary Artists in Australia
● Aaron Almeid
Shigeru Ban's Innovation of Glulam Architecture and Revisions of Tradition
Each presentation is fifteen minutes in length. Panel discussion to follow.
