The Studio for Interrelated Media Lecture Series Presents: Andrew Yang

ANDREW YANG (American, b. 1973) lives and works in Chicago, IL. Before completing his MFA at Lesley University College of Art and Design (Cambridge, MA), Yang received his BS in Chemistry and Biology at Juniata College (Huntingdon, PA) and a PhD in Biology at Duke University (Durham, NC). Yang’s work identifies intersections between art, science, and natural history. His interdisciplinary practice, in his own words, serves “to make various sense of the ever-changing connections between the theories, things, and creatures that teem within our ecology of experience.” Yang’s solo exhibition Chicago Works: Andrew Yang was featured at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago in 2016. His work has been featured in numerous group exhibitions at Peale Museum (Baltimore, MD), PlatteForum (Denver, CO), Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection (Chicago, IL), Muzeum Sztuki (Lodz, Poland), the 14th Istanbul Biennial (Istanbul, Turkey), and more. Future group exhibitions include Museum Schloss Moyland (Bedburg-Hau, Germany), and Harn Museum of Art (Gainesville, FL).
