Self-Promotion for Artists

NEW EVENT DATE!!!

“I don’t need to advertise. I’m a fine artist!”
“My work speaks for itself.”
“I’m a creative. Leave the marketing to the marketers!”

If any of this sounds familiar, you might be an artist who doesn’t appreciate the value of self-promotion. Many fine artists believe that once they establish their reputation, the world will beat a path to their door. But what if it were possible not only to pave a path to your door, but to invite people from all over the world to visit you?

There’s nothing pushy or sleazy about promoting yourself and your work. Self-promotion is an effective way to get your name in front of people and generate buzz about yourself and your work. Using free social media and low-cost traditional marketing tools, you can get the word out about what you do and develop a group of active followers who are interested in your art and your process. These followers become your marketing department, singing your praises to their friends, families and co-workers!

In this workshop, you’ll learn:

  • The basics of self-promotion: What it is, what it isn’t
  • Why niche marketing is important
  • What social media tools are right for you and your work
  • How to develop email newsletters to stay in touch with your clients and fans
  • Where to find resources for developing low-cost or free websites
  • How to maintain an active social media community
  • What to write about in a blog
  • How to create a unique social media voice
  • Direct mail: it still works!

Developing and maintaining relationships with people is easier than ever with today’s social media tools. And in a crowded marketplace, it helps to have an online presence so that people can easily find out more about your work. Discover how to market yourself and see how AWESOME self-promotion can be!
